I'm Margaux Sanchez, a Rondout Valley parent with 25 years experience as an educator, communications professional, and community organizer. I'm running for the Rondout Valley Board of Education because I believe in the power of community, and at the heart of our communities are our schools.
Why I'm Running
I am running for the Board of Education to serve our school district in carrying out its vital mission "to create an inclusive, welcoming educational community where all students can find their purpose and achieve their goals." I bring more than a decade's experience in community-based advocacy, varied skills as a researcher, writer, and systems-oriented thinker, a background in teaching and educational program development, 3 years serving on the Roundout Valley District Equity Council, and 7 years working as a school communicator engaging families in their children's education.
